BETAWI – Kuliner Lunch Series

KULINER: Taste of Indonesia presents Betawi Cuisine – Lunch Series

This was the KULINER’s first event that was held March 28th 2019 at the Holy Crab Restaurant. The Betawi Lunch was a huge success having over 100 people attending the lunch event from 12 to 1 pm. This Indonesian culinary promotion initiative is a collaboration between the Indonesian Consulate General of Republic of Indonesia in Vancouver (KJRI Vancouver) and PERMAI BC (Indonesian Community Association in BC) as well as Nusa Coffee, The Holy Crab Canada, and Tempea.

We are hoping to promote and introduce Indonesia through its cuisine in this KULINER Initiative. For more information and upcoming events, check out our website at www.kuliner.ca

Pudjasera 2018

Pudjasera 2018

Our increasingly popular event Pudjasera was once again a great success! Over 150 PERMAI BC Members gathered together on Saturday, December 1st, to socialize with fellow Indonesians and people in the community.

Pudjasera events are intimate, members-only gatherings designed to foster relationships. This time we moved to a more spacious setting at the Marpole Oakridge Community Centre, which better accommodated our growing attendees. The venue was filled with conversation and laughter throughout the afternoon.

Thank you to our vendors: Yuanita Lestari, Vaila Atrya, Pinky Broto, Nilam Ambarwati, Vincci, Shelly Gucci and Zslimes who cured our homesickness and provided us with delicious food as always. The diverse menu that day included es blewah, gudeg, kue basah (risoles, nagasari, lemper, arem2, rempeyek), nasi goreng, ayam penyet, sate padang, dendeng balado and so much more.

Thank you to our volunteers, organizing members, and the PPLN Vancouver team who took the time to inform us on how to vote for next year’s election. And last but not least, thank you to everyone who came to join us and made it a blast. If you missed us this time, stay tuned for our next Pudjasera!

Indonesia Fest

Indonesia Fest 2018

We would like to thank you for your support to our annual Indonesian Festival! This year’s Festival was very special as Permai BC co-hosted it with the Consulate General of Indonesia in Vancouver; organized the biggest Indonesian event ever held in our beloved province, British Columbia, with over 1,400 guests.

It was all because of the hard work, countless nights of practices, and meticulous preparation from 67 Indonesian traditional dance and music performers, 6 Indonesian Food vendors, 16 Indonesian Product booths, 45 volunteers, and our sponsors. Together, our Indonesian community here managed to showcase the beauty of our Indonesian culture through arts performances, crafts, and cuisine to Canadians and other neighbouring communities.

Please enjoy a short highlight video that our media team has put together and we look forward to work together again next year again as a community, Indonesian community living in British Columbia, Canada

Alun-Alun2016

ALUN-ALUN INDONESIA 2016

Release All That Pent Longing

Full of people. Full of laughter. Cheerful.

Pleasant faces meet and greet each other, hug each other, talk to each other, smile to each other.

That afternoon, on Saturday October 8th 2016, in an autumn rain that fell since morning, Indonesian society residing in British Columbia, flocked to “come home” happily without worrying about the change of International date and time.
