The money YOU donate will be used to help with basic necessities for the Victims such as food, water, shelter, and first aid.

Our mission is to raise funds and awareness so we can also provide the long term support to rebuild the lives of the locals living along the Sunda Strait, Indonesia. People are now homeless and are without shelter. This donation will also be used to rebuild homes and broken infrastructure.

The death toll reached 431, with over 14,059 people injured and 16 were missing; while 33,719 people sought safety and shelter away from their houses. Together, we can help our brothers and sisters in their recovery from this devastating disaster.

Emergency Appeal for Victims of Sunda Strait Tsunami

On Saturday, December 22nd, 2018, a crater collapse on the Anak Krakatau volcanic island sent waves up to 5m high crashing into the coast of the Sunda Strait between the Java and Sumatra Islands. We are heartbroken to hear the devastating Sunda Strait Tsunami news. Since it happened, the death toll keeps increasing and hundreds are still missing. Even though we are far, our hearts ache for their pain and we feel moved to help in any way we can. Through this fundraising event, our mission is to raise funds and awareness so we can provide the support to rebuild the lives of the locals living along the Sunda Strait. People are now homeless and are without shelter. The Sunda Strait area has been extensively damaged and the villagers’ schools, houses, and community centres have been destroyed. Torrential rains and blocked roads have hampered rescue efforts in Indonesia's coastal villages, as local authorities warned of extreme weather and high waves around the erupting volcano. While they need our support to rebuild the area, we also want to raise a huge awareness for our local communities here in Vancouver so they can contribute to our #WonderfulIndonesia. The money YOU donate will be used for assuring basic necessities, such as food, clean water, housing, medications, and school supplies. Every dollar donated makes a difference to those in need.
